Donations Assistant Driver
Be part of something bigger. Make every day matter.
We’re recruiting Donations Assistant Drivers to join our dedicated Donation Centre team—a highly active, hands-on role that plays a critical part in the success of our charity and the care we provide across Cornwall.
This is an active, physical role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move and working as part of a supportive team. You’ll be out and about across Cornwall, collecting and delivering donated items either directly from donors’ homes—often including heavy furniture— or to and from our 30 shops, so being physically fit and able is essential.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collecting and delivering donated stock across the county, including large and heavy items of furniture, or multi-drop loads to stores themselves
- Providing a friendly, respectful service to donors in their homes
- Assessing donated furniture to decide what we can sell and what will need to be politely declined
- Supporting the wider Donation Centre team wherever needed, contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the centre
- Engaging with customers to maximise Gift Aid income
- Help maintain a tidy, well looked-after warehouse at each of our Donation Centre sites
Why this role matters:
Every item you collect and deliver helps generate vital income for our stores—income that directly funds the invaluable care and support provided in our Hospices. Your work will have a clear, direct, and meaningful impact on people living with terminal illness and their families throughout Cornwall.
What we offer:
- A competitive salary
- 36 days’ paid holiday, including bank holidays with the option to buy or sale annual leave
- Sector-leading benefits including a health care plan
- The satisfaction of knowing your work truly makes a difference
This role is based at a Donation Centre site, but daily travel across Cornwall may be required.
Essential requirement:
- A current full driving licence
If you’re looking for a meaningful, energetic role where no two days are the same—and where your effort directly supports an incredible Cornish charity—we’d love to hear from you.
“My friend was nursed so well, and had every attention during his last days. He twice asked me; who is paying for all this? and couldn’t believe it was free. What a wonderful world it would be if everyone had access to this standard of care.”
